Voters in the Esquimalt-Saanich-Sooke riding will have a chance to hear from the candidates at a public forum on Monday, April 14.

The Public Service Alliance of Canada is hosting the event at the Chief Petty Officers' Mess in Esquimalt (1575 Lyall St.), which aims to engage voters ahead of the upcoming federal election. The event is scheduled to run from 7 to 8 p.m. with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.

Candidates Maja Tait (NDP), Stephanie McLean (Liberal), Ben Homer-Dixon (Green) Grant Cool (Conservative), Nikita Heurtier (PPC) and Robert Crooks (Communist) are invited to discuss key issues and take questions from the community.

"This event will be open to PSAC BC union members and the general public. We encourage everyone in the area to attend – whether you’re a first-time voter or a seasoned participant in elections, your voice and vote matter," according to a post from organizers.
