Naughty Bits Showing again

Members of the Island Illustrators Society show some of their most intimate images in time for Valentine’s Day.

More Naughty Bits Showing sees 11 artists pay homage to erotica, love and relationships. The adults-only show, featuring all-new works, opens Friday (Jan. 28) with a gala dress-up reception at 7 p.m. Prizes will be drawn for. 

The exhibit runs through Feb. 9 at the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria, G6-1001 Douglas  St.  For venue times and a list of artists, visit www.islandillustrators.org.

Jazz quartet at Hermann’s

The quartet of Flello, McFetridge, Miller and Young plays sophisticated modern jazz, including original compositions by pianist George McFetridge, Feb. 5 at Hermann’s Jazz Club.

The appearance of a special guest artist is also in the works. Doors open at 6 p.m. at 753 View St. Cover is $12 and dinner is available. Call 250-388-9166 for reservations.

Dance Magnifique art exhibited

Award-winning visual artists’ interpretations of the performances of national and internationally acclaimed dancers make up Dance Magnifique, an upcoming exhibit at the Martin Batchelor Gallery.

Figurative painter Clement Kwan, videographer Lance Gilson, portrait and figurative painter Maria Miranda Lawrence, photographer Herman Surkis and printmaker/sculptor Bill Zuk portray the magnificence of ballet and contemporary dance with their works.

Opening reception happens Feb. 5, 7 to 9 p.m., at 712 Cormorant St. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call 250-385-7919 for more details.
