Island FanCon is collaborating with Sooke School District 62 to provide 100 free tickets to students aged 13 and older, allowing them to attend the pop culture and arts convention from March 28 to 30 at the Langford Event Centre.
The partnership aims to remove financial barriers for students and allow them to explore careers in creative industries. Students will have the chance to participate in workshops, panels, and events alongside industry professionals.
“We’re excited to partner with SD 62 to welcome students to Island FanCon 2025,” said Lonnie Eckardt, founding partner of the convention. “This initiative is about inspiring the next generation of creators and innovators.”
The event will feature activities such as cosplay competitions, vendor showcases, workshops on careers in media, and various stage performances.
Island FanCon encourages other schools and districts to reach out about similar opportunities.
