A veteran Canadian independent singer-songwriter will bring reflective songs inspired by pandemic times to Vancouver Island next week as part of a North American tour.

Jane Siberry combines lyrical storytelling with her ethereal voice for a live performance known for emotional depth and humourous storytelling, according to a news release from Harbour City Concerts.

With 15 studio albums already in her repertoire, Sibbery is releasing her latest one song at a time.

“Jane Siberry has continually pushed the boundaries of what it means to be an artist, now particularly focused on how musicians can work with peaceful productivity in the changing music industry,” the release noted. “This tour, alongside the release of her new music, is a testament to her enduring creative spirit and commitment to making music that matters.”

Siberry began releasing songs off the album Season One: These Hard Knots in October. She said the tour is a journey of connection where she can learn from people.

“These songs are a reflection of what I’ve observed and felt in the past few years, watching people deal with so much, and many doing so with excruciating excellence,” she said in the news release.

Her tour will stop in Nanaimo on Nov. 13 at the Nanaimo Yacht Club. She will also make stops in Duncan on Nov. 11, Courtenay on Nov. 14 and Victoria on Nov. 15-16. Tickets can be purchased here
