Pacific Opera Victoria’s Luminary Series will continue with a recital by renowned tenor Lawrence Brownlee at the McPherson Playhouse on March 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Accompanied by pianist Kevin Miller, Brownlee will perform songs from his Grammy-nominated album Rising, as well as works by composers such as Verdi, Bellini, Donizetti, and Rossini.
Pacific Opera artistic director Brenna Corner described Brownlee as “one of the most extraordinary tenors of our time,” highlighting the opportunity for audiences to experience both his classic repertoire and new works.
Brownlee has performed on major stages worldwide and advocates for diversity in classical music. In December 2024, the French government named him a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres for his contributions to the arts.
Tickets start at $65, with a discounted rate of $50 for Pacific Opera subscribers.
The Luminary Series concludes on May 29 with The Gryphon Trio: ECHO: Memories of the World. More information is available at pacificopera.ca.
