Gypsy, Dreams and Chains were among the songs that filled the air on Sunday (Aug. 17) at the latest Summer Sounds concert, which featured Fleetwood Magic, a tribute to the British-American group that transported audiences on a musical journey back in time.
Hosted in Sidney’s seaside Beacon Park, hundreds joined the celebration, with many showing their best dance moves in front of the stage.
If it sounds like you missed a fun time, there’s still a chance to attend the concert series’ last installment.
The finale takes place Aug. 24, featuring a performance by the Maritime Forces Pacific Naden Band with a special tribute to Canadian military members and veterans.
In operation since 1940, the Naden Band is comprised of 35 professional full-time musicians. The band performs in a variety of ensembles ranging from parade and concert bands to big band, brass and woodwind quintets, and rock and contemporary ensembles.
The closing event will include a rolling parade from Beacon Park to the Army, Navy and Air Force Veterans unit, with organizers encouraging attendees to wear red and white to cheer the band on.
