Intrepid Theatre’s Get OUT Cabaret is a one-night celebration of queer culture, featuring local performers in a variety of styles and genres.
The event, set for Friday, April 27 at the Metro Studio Theatre, follows on the heels of sold-out hits the Big Gay Cabaret and multiple editions of Homo for the Holidays. This multi-disciplinary cabaret will go from Broadway to back alley, in a show packed with inspired, kitschy, avant-garde and fabulous performances.
The Get OUT Cabaret doubles as a launch for Intrepid’s 2018 OUTstages queer theatre festival program, which runs June 19 to 24 and kicks off the Pride season. The performance lineup includes spoken word, drag, burlesque and musical numbers that deal with issues of sexuality, gender identity and conformity, and explore the queer experience.
The Get OUT Cabaret is hosted by two of Victoria’s most popular drag performers: former Mr. Gay Vancouver Island, Eddi Licious and the queen of many looks, Vivian Vanderpuss.
Show time is 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 and a limited number of free youth tickets (age 25 and under) are available. Purchase online at intrepidtheatre.com or ticketrocket.com. The Metro Studio Theatre is at 1411 Quadra St.
