Arts on View Society has released its music schedule for this week.
Whether you’re into rock, pop or jazz standards, there’s bound to be something for you at Hermann’s Jazz Club starting with Tuesday's open mic night. This free, weekly event on Tuesdays has moved next door to View Street Social and is hosted by singer and guitarist Kelly Fawcett who brings an extraordinary level of musicianship and personality to the night.
If rock is your jam, RELICS will be playing the music of Pink Floyd for two nights this week on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 5 - 6. Think late '60s to mid-'70s Pink Floyd songs from their albums A Saucerful of Secrets, Umma Gumma, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn and Meddle performed live in surround sound. They're throwing in a cool light show for a truly immersive Floyd experience.
On Saturday, Sept. 7, '60s music takes center stage with BackBeat, local musicians who have been thrilling audiences since 1988 with their loving and most authentic musical tribute to the sixties played absolutely live.
BackBeat members George Penwarn, Duncan Meiklejohn, Kelt Eccleston and Jon Bagel are all accomplished musicians. Each of them has graced the stage with some of the worlds foremost artists and have also been a featured opening act for Trooper and 54-40, two of Canada's most successful artists. Prepare to hit the dance floor at the mezzanine.
