A pop-up piano concert is coming to Loon Bay on July 25, where Victoria-based musician Brooke Maxwell will tickle the ivories overlooking the Salish Sea.
The event is slated to take place from noon to 1:30 p.m.
"(Maxwell) is ... a sound designer, composer, arranger and the co-creator of the acclaimed Ride the Cyclone," reads Oak Bay's events page. "He recently produced the cast album for RTC, which is now available through Warner Brothers on all major streaming services. He currently performs around the Island with the Beautiful Maladies, The Chuckleberries, Wild Honey Pie and at his regular home base, Pagliacci’s."
The musician will play on the park's public piano, which boasts designs from visual artists from the Garth Homer Society – a non-profit that works to provide services and opportunities that enable people with disabilities to make a life, a home and a place in the world.
The district is asking attendees to bring their own lawn chairs and umbrellas.
In the case of pouring rain, the concert may be rescheduled.
