Langford Lake has been placed under a beach advisory at its Ed Nixon Lane location.

Recreational water use is off the cards for four Greater Victoria swimming spots.

Saxe Point Park Beach, Esquimalt Gorge Park Kinsmen Beach and Langford Lake at Ed Nixon Lane, were all placed under a beach advisory by Island Health Aug. 15 because of unsatisfactory bacteriological water results.

Sayward Beach in Cordova Bay was also added to the list Aug.14.

The advisories come days after North Saanich's Bazan Bay Beach returned an unsatisfactory bacteriological water-test result.

There are currently nine Greater Victoria beach advisories in place, with Beaver Lake, Thetis Lake Beach, Prior Lake and Ross Bay Beach also on the list.

But it's not been all bad news for locals wanting to enjoy the final days of summer at their favourite watering hole – the beach advisory for Elk Lake was officially lifted Aug. 14.

An advisory for Oak Bay's Willows Beach, first announced Aug. 11, was also removed Aug. 18.
