The finalists for the 2025 celebration of Victoria’s tech sector have been officially announced, with the 23rd annual VIATEC Awards set to take place on May 1 at the Victoria Conference Centre.
"Since 2002, the VIATEC Awards have spotlighted the outstanding leaders, companies, and products emerging from our tech sector,” said Dan Gunn, CEO of VIATEC, in a news release. “This celebration is about more than just recognition, it's also a chance for our community to come together, cheer each other on, and inspire one another.”
This year’s theme, DiscoTech, is expected to provide an evening of entertainment, networking, and celebration, as guests participate in a creative challenge, a three-course dinner, the awards show, and an exclusive after party at The Coda, where guests can enjoy live music from local band, Tight Hair Disco.
Among the 10 award categories is company of the year, emerging startup of the year, leader of the year, product of the year, innovative excellence in hardware and employer of the year.
“The event shines a spotlight on the groundbreaking and important work being done by our thriving tech sector which helps companies raise their profile with potential investors, customers, partners, future employees, government officials, and policymakers,” noted Gunn in the release. “We do this because it's fun and it strengthens the bonds that make our tech community so special."
