A man who is alleged to have robbed a downtown bank on Tuesday, Aug. 19, has been arrested and charged according to the Victoria Police Department.
At about 10:45 a.m., a man entered a bank in the 1100-block of Douglas Street and demanded money. The CIBC downtown was cordoned off by police in the afternoon.
Police say no weapons were involved, and the man successfully left with the money.
"Approximately six hours later, a man matching the description of the suspect was located and arrested in the downtown area, and a substantial amount of money was recovered," noted a statement from VicPD.
Josue Raul Zuria, 43, has been charged with a count of robbery, and his next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 11.
Police say they are unable to share any more details as the case is before the courts.
