Maintenance work at Brentwood Bay and Mill Bay ferry terminal will start on Jan. 17.

BC Ferries will carry out maintenance work at the Brentwood Bay and Mill Bay ferry terminal from Jan. 17 to Feb. 1.

In order to minimize disruptions, the ferry operators said terminal trestle repair work will be done Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with occasional evening work from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Residents in the vicinity might hear more noise than usual during these times.

To accommodate the construction activities, the Brentwood Bay terminal's vehicle holding capacity will be reduced and traffic patterns may also change.

Travellers are advised to follow the direction of staff, signage and traffic control attendants. Foot  passengers ae also encouraged to arrive earlier than usual for their intended sailing time.

BC Ferries will update the service notice should there be any changes to this scheduled work.

"We thank our customers and neighbours for their patience and understanding as we complete this necessary project, as part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safe operation of our terminal facilities," the company said.
