Residents get a free ride for Clean Air Day on Wednesday (June 5).

Victoria Regional Transit Commission and BC Transit are covering the costs of riders to mark Clean Air Day and help provide a more environmentally-friendly transportation option.

Transit in the region will be free all day for all transit users, including handyDART customers.

The Government of Canada declared Clean Air Day in 1999 as part of Canadian Environment Week. The goal of Clean Air Day is to raise awareness about air quality and climate change, as well as inspire people to consider changing habits in an effort to decrease their individual greenhouse gas emissions.
