A coordinator for the BC Centre for Women in the Trades has been elected as the new chair of the Camosun College board of governors, assuming the role at the start of August and replacing outgoing board chair Tanya Clarmont.

She joined the cybersecurity sub-committee as chair in 2024, and previously served as liaison on the Pacific Institute for Sport Education (PISE) board of directors.
“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Lindsay as the new board chair of Camosun College. I also want to thank Tanya for her passionate leadership and experience as our Board Chair of the last two years,” said Lane Trotter, president of Camosun, in a news release. “The college remains committed to delivering applied, innovative and relevant education to our learners.”

“Coming to Camosun as a student changed my life in all the best ways, and I’ve been honoured to have had the opportunity to give back by serving on the board under the leadership of Tanya and Monty – It’s a privilege and joy to now move into the role of chair myself,” said Kearns in the release. “Our strong community at Camosun is a unique and inspiring tribute to the impact that engaged and committed board members, administrators, president, staff, and students can have when we collaborate and work together.”
Clarmont will stay on the board for the next year as the immediate past chair.
