West Shore RCMP Traffic Unit and frontline members responded to the "reported collision between a BC Transit bus and a cyclist" at 3:59 p.m.
The police department said it cannot provide further comment, as it is an ongoing investigation by the West Shore RCMP Traffic Unit.
BC Transit said safety is its top priority and that it will conduct an internal investigation “as we do with all incidents.”
“Our thoughts are with the cyclist, bus operator, passengers, and all those involved,” it added.
