The Capital Regional District (CRD) aims for a more user-friendly, dynamic and accessible website as part of its efforts to improve access to information and services online.
The new CRD website not only enhances usability and access to information but also prioritizes security, accessibility, and inclusivity, the regional district said in a news release.
The new website includes dedicated community pages to provide tailored information for specific areas within the CRD; email subscription options; and a feedback form on every web page.
It also includes a new “What Goes Where” tool, for looking up products across various waste streams. This tool is available as part of the CRD recycle app and on the website, adding value for those who also use the app for bluebox reminders.
Information about the CRD includes a new bylaw directory, a section on public participation and voting and a searchable list of CRD, Capital Regional Hospital District, and Capital Region Housing Corporation boards and more than 70 commissions and committees. Each page includes agenda, minutes, coming meetings and a schedule of meetings.
Designed to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, the new site offers automated translation features including for residents using assistive technologies.
