Sunny days are on the horizon as bouts of rain and wind are expected Tuesday (June 4) across Vancouver Island.

Residents in the Campbell River area faced a wind warning in the morning, and won’t see sunny skies until Thursday, according to Environment Canada.

However, other parts of the Island will see a sun-filled mid-week, starting Wednesday.

Periods of rain continue with light wind and low of 8C overnight Tuesday clearing for a promise of sun and temperatures rising to a peak 27C in traditional Island hot spot Port Alberni by Friday.

Greater Victoria will peak around 24C and the mid-Island is expected to be just shy of that.

While the mix of sun and cloud may remain, temperatures are expected to hover in the low 20s through the weekend and Monday.
