Victoria Hospice’s annual Hike for Hospice returns to Willows Park in Oak Bay on Sunday, May 4 in support of end-of-life care and grief services.
The 3.5-kilometre walk offers participants a chance to honour loved ones and contribute to hospice programs. Notes can be added to the Tree of Remembrance, and awards will be given for top individual and team fundraisers, as well as for participants in the Workplace and Service Club Challenge. Dogs are welcome, with prizes for spirit and costumes.
Registration opens at 9 a.m., with the walk starting at 10. The event includes a warm-up by the Oak Bay High Dance Troupe, music by Mufaro Marimba, face painting and refreshments.
Among those attending is Chuck Salmon, who says walking the trail helps him reflect and reconnect after loss.
