Two people were arrested in Langford in relation to drug trafficking following an investigation by West Shore RCMP's Drugs and Organized Crime Unit.
On Thursday, June 5, officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of Sooke Road and Jacklin Road, with a car displaying an inactive licence plate that did not match the description of the vehicle. Further investigation led police to suspect that the occupants of the vehicle were trafficking drugs.
Two men in their 40s were arrested and later released on undertakings while police continue the investigation.
After searching the vehicle and both of the suspects, police seized about 50 grams of suspected fentanyl, three grams of suspected cocaine, three grams of suspected crack cocaine, five grams of suspected methamphatamine, several unknown pills and about seven grams of "unknown powder."
Along with the suspected drugs, police recovered suspected drug trafficking paraphernalia, bear spray, a collapsible baton, a machete, a folding knife and a stolen licence plate.
