Just past 4:30 p.m., April 24, West Shore RCMP say they were called to the scene of a serious collision involving multiple vehicles near the 4000 block of Sooke Road in Metchosin.
Police say Sooke Road is shut down in both directions as emergency crews attend the scene. Police cannot provide an estimated time of when Sooke Road will re-open, but they anticipate it will remain shut down for several hours.
Kangaroo Road remains open and can be used as an alternative route, and police say they will provide an update at a later time.
Witnesses said they saw one car overturned on the side of the road heading into Sooke, while two others were seen on the opposite side of the road.
It is unclear how many persons were involved in the accident or if injuries have been sustained.
