More than 475 artistic swimmers from nine provinces descended on Saanich March 17 to take part in this year's national artistic swimming qualifier.

The six-day Commonwealth Place competition features 25 different events in the youth, junior and senior age groups. Victorious teams will qualify for the finals, set for Markham, Ont. in May.

Victoria Artistic Swimming is hosting the aquatic showdown.

“The Victoria Artistic Swimming Club, its athletes, coaches and community are thrilled to be the host club for the 2025 national qualifier,” head coach Brenda Scott said in a news release. “We look forward to supporting not only the athletes from our club but also all the athletes from across the country who will compete to secure their place in the Canadian national championships. It will be an amazing celebration of talent, dedication and sportsmanship.”

Tickets are available at the door at Commonwealth Place for $15 per day or $45 for an all-event package.
