Officers arrested two suspects for stolen property while an investigation continues into a man with pants at his ankles
Oak Bay police handled 80 calls for service between Aug. 4 and 10, among them a theft from a vehicle and a report of an indecent act.
On Aug. 5, officers were called to Haultain Street after items, including two pairs of designer sunglasses, a tent and $180 in cash, were stolen from a vehicle.
Later that day, police received a report from another complainant who had found two shopping carts full of suspected stolen goods in a Saanich park.
Oak Bay officers arrested two suspects for possession of stolen property. Most of the items, including some from the earlier theft, were returned to their owners. One pair of sunglasses remains missing. The Saanich Police Department is continuing the investigation.
A day later, on Aug. 6, at about 2:30 p.m., a woman reported seeing a man with his shorts around his ankles engaged in an indecent act in Trafalgar Park. Police were called at 6:16 p.m.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 30s or 40s with a “large belly.” The investigation is ongoing.
