A green Toyota Tacoma was stolen twice from a residence in the 2500 block of Eastdowne Road. The first incident occurred overnight between July 6 and 7, when the unlocked vehicle was entered and a spare key was taken. The owner later discovered the vehicle had been moved and returned.

Shortly after 11 p.m. on July 8, the same vehicle was stolen again. Oak Bay police notified neighbouring police jurisdictions, and the Integrated Canine Service located the vehicle in Saanich and initiated a traffic stop.

With assistance from Saanich Police, an 18-year-old male driver was taken into custody and later released by Oak Bay police on an undertaking with conditions. The matter remains under investigation.
