Police say a man was arrested in Oak Bay on Aug. 3 after a resident reported the individual was at the back of their home multiple times.

Oak Bay police said it got a report about a man laying on an outdoor couch at the rear of a home in the south end of the community. The man then left before police arrived, but as officers were conducting patrols to find him, police got another call saying the man had returned to the back side of the same home.

Police arrested the man for trespassing and learned he was also breaching a probation order. After being arrested, the man has since been held in custody by the court.

Police on Wednesday provided updates information about other incidents in the community around the first week of August.

On the last day of July, Oak Bay police issued a 90-day driving prohibition to a 31-year-old woman. An officer pulled the driver over after seeing that her taillight was out. After noticing signs of impairment during the traffic stop, police conducted an impairment investigation. That investigation also led to the woman's prohibition and to her vehicle being impounded for 30 days.

Police said the driver-side mirrors of four vehicles were damaged near Windsor Park between 5 p.m. on  Aug. 2 and 8 a.m. the following day. No suspects have been identified and police are asking people to contact them if their vehicles received similar damage during that time. Police can be reached at 250-592-2424.
