Pulitzer-prize winning author Richard Powers will soon head to Oak Bay to read sections of his new novel Playground.

Hosted by Munro's Books, the event will take place at the Dave Dunnet Community Theatre on Oct. 28.

"Powers’ new novel is an epic tale of love, friendship, and humanity’s next great adventure," said Munros Books in a news release. "Traversing borders and oceans, connection and loss, ingenuity and transcendence, Playground brings to light the systems of competition, cooperation, commerce, exploration, and love that tie the fates of unlikely humans together."

Local author Michael Christie will lead a discussion about the new work. Attendees are invited to ask Powers questions afterwards.
