Saanich residents will have multiple opportunities to engage with local government and shape their community through a series of upcoming public events.

The Saanich Operations Centre redevelopment project takes centre stage on Saturday, Oct. 26, with a drop-in information session from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Bucket Shed, 1040 McKenzie Ave. District staff and consultants from CitySpaces and Colliers will be available to discuss the project and rezoning process.

Looking ahead to November, the Shelbourne Valley Action Plan will be under discussion as Saanich Planning prepares to present at the Quadra Cedar Hill Community Association's (QCHCA) general meeting. The session is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 26, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre's Art Room 1, though final arrangements are still pending. The 2017 plan is currently being updated, with QCHCA serving as one of the key stakeholder groups involved in the process.

These public engagement opportunities come as Saanich Council discussed two significant items at their Oct. 21 meeting: the Draft Quadra McKenzie Plan and the Final Road Safety Action Plan.
