Victoria International Airport (YYJ) has been recognized as one of BC's top employers.

Why do employees like working at Victoria International Airport? Maybe because of their peer recognition program, tuition subsidies for employees or generous pension plan contribution.

This week, YYJ was recognized as one of the best employers in B.C. for 2025 by BC's Top Employers, an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers.

“We’re pleased to receive this special designation for a sixth consecutive year,” said Elizabeth M. Brown, Victoria Airport Authority (VAA) president and CEO. “Being recognized as one of B.C.’s Top Employers highlights the heart of our organization – our corporate values.”

Brown attributes the recognition to the VAA team's dedication and commitment.

The CEO highlighted some of the reasons VAA was selected as one of B.C.’s top employers – online recognition program (KUDOS) where employees receive 100 points that can be redeemed to gift to colleagues with products and gift cards; tuition subsidies for courses at other institutions for employee development; and retirement planning services, including generous contributions to a defined benefit pension plan.

B.C.'s Top Employers, now in its 20th year, is a special designation that assesses organizations based on eight consistent criteria, including workplace culture, benefits, vacation policies, employee development and community involvement.
