Originally slated to open on July 1, Speedwash’s grand opening has been pushed to mid-August.

Canada’s longest express car wash is hitting the brakes – at least for now.

SpeedWash, originally set to open its Colwood location on July 1, has delayed its grand opening until mid-August due to equipment shipment issues.

“Due to shipment delays of essential equipment, construction and testing will continue into early August with a launch event celebration planned for mid-August,” SpeedWash told the Goldstream Gazette.

The Colwood location will be SpeedWash’s fourth in B.C., joining Surrey, Langley and Chilliwack. The company had planned to hand out 15,000 free car washes on Canada Day, a promise they still intend to honour once the site officially opens.

“With plans for influencer partnerships, local business outreach, and community engagement, Colwood SpeedWash is poised to make a bright entrance once final construction is complete," they added.

In the meantime, SpeedWash is asking locals to stay tuned online, with special offers extended and updates to come through social media and their website.
