In the lead-up to the 2025 election, the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce is inviting locals to attend a free panel discussion, during which community leaders will discuss the region's key priorities with MP hopefuls.
Set to take place on April 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spectrum Community School in Saanich, communications director Jim Zeeben told Victoria News the chamber has invited four candidates, one from each of the four major parties, who will represent one of the four ridings in the region. He has yet to confirm which candidates will attend.
"To ensure that critical issues and opportunities are addressed during the campaign, each community leader will present a shared priority request for the federal government," the chamber said on its website. "A representative from each party will have the opportunity to respond to the identified priorities."
Some of the community leaders invited to attend include Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce CEO Bruce Williams, Downtown Victoria Business Association CEO Jeff Bray and Vancouver Island Construction Association CEO Rory Kulmala.
Shared key priorities to be announced on the chamber's website soon.
Seating is limited, so attendees have been asked to register in advance. For more information, visit: victoriachamber.ca/events.
