Police are investigating two separate hit-and-run collisions involving e-scooter riders that occurred on July 16 in Victoria.

In both cases, the other vehicle involved left the scene, and police are seeking witnesses and video footage.

The first incident happened around 12:25 p.m. at the intersection of Finlayson and Quadra streets, where a youth riding an e-scooter in the eastbound bike lane was struck by an SUV making a turn. The youth sustained minor injuries and the SUV did not remain at the scene.

Two hours later, around 2:25 p.m., a white truck collided with an e-scooter rider at Gorge Road East and Dunedin Street. Police say the rider was travelling westbound when the truck, travelling the opposite direction, turned onto Dunedin and struck the scooter. The vehicle also left the scene.

VicPD says the incidents are unrelated and remain under investigation.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to call the E-Comm non-emergency line at 250-995-7654, ext. 1, referencing file numbers 25-26923 and 25-26952.
