For 50 years, Beacon Community Services has been 'Lighting the Way' in the community and this year, they've launched a compelling video series to showcase the charity's impact.

The community-based organization's Be a Beacon of Hope campaign is a call to action that highlights the growing demand for Beacon's services as they help families struggling with childcare, young people facing homelessness and seniors battling isolation and food insecurity.

"The demand for our services continues to grow, and this campaign is about building a future where we can reach even more people in need," said Tricia Gueulette, CEO of Beacon Community Services. "We are not only celebrating our history, but we are also working to secure the future for those who rely on us today."

Shaun Cerisano, director of development at Beacon, emphasized the critical role of community support.

"With strong community support, we can ensure that nobody in our community goes without help, not just today but for years to come."

The campaign received a significant boost thanks to the generosity of Tecnet Canada Inc., which will match the first $10,000 in donations, effectively doubling the impact of every contribution.

"We are honoured to stand alongside an organization that, like us, has been part of the Greater Victoria community for over 50 years," said Matthew Van Heyst, CEO of Tecnet Canada Inc. "Over the decades, we at Tecnet have witnessed firsthand how Beacon Community Services truly lives up to its name - serving as a beacon of hope and compassion for those most vulnerable in our community. Their tireless work creates real, lasting change, and we are grateful to play a part in amplifying their mission."

Beacon Community Services invites the public to watch the first video and take action by donating to the "Be a Beacon of Hope" campaign.
