A 48-year-old woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle near the border of View Royal and Songhees Nation.
The collision between the woman and a white GMC Savana van occurred Aug. 14, at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Admirals Road near Maple Bank Road.
An RCMP statement says the woman "succumbed to her injuries over the weekend."
"West Shore RCMP extends their condolences to the woman’s family and friends," said an RCMP news release.
Following the incident, the intersection was closed for several hours as the RCMP traffic reconstructionist examined the scene.
According to the RCMP, the driver of the van was cooperative with police and remained on scene.
Though the cause of the collision remains under investigation, police have ruled out drugs and alcohol as contributing factors.
