In partnership with Rogers TV, Camosun College will be broadcasting Camosun Chargers volleyball and basketball games on Rogers South Vancouver Island channel for the 2024-25 season in an effort to increase accessibility for Chargers fans and to increase visibility in the Capital Region.

“We are excited to partner with a community-focused company like Rogers. Their commitment to bringing local sports coverage to Southern Vancouver Island is important to the Chargers, and also the Pacific Western Athletic Association league,” said Cory Ahlers, interim manager of athletics, in a news release. “Together we look to increase the reach of our home games, while making it accessible for anyone to watch.”

The Camosun Chargers Athletics Program currently fields teams in basketball and volleyball. Since joining the Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association and PACWEST conferences in 1994, the Chargers have competed in over 100 national and provincial championships with over 50 medal-winning finishes. The broadcast will feature live game commentators, instant replays, and high-quality graphics.

“Rogers TV is excited to partner with Camosun College in carrying the Chargers home basketball and volleyball game broadcasts this season,” said Paul McLellan, Rogers TV Access Coordinator, in the release. “Our South Vancouver Island community TV channel is proud to bring viewers a front row seat for local sports, where they can join us in supporting these talented collegiate athletes.”

The first Camosun Chargers home games will be broadcast on Rogers TV on Friday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. for the women’s volleyball game, and the men play at 8 p.m. All Camosun Chargers home games are live streamed on the Chargers YouTube channel or on Rogers TV, channel 4 or 105.
