An 11-year-old gymnast from Colwood walked away from the 2024 BC Winter Games with three gold medals on Feb. 28.
Allora Enge competed in the Lhtako Quesnel games from Feb. 22 to Feb. 25 and scored 37.7 points out of 40 on her first day of the competition.
Enge trained at the Lions Pride Gymnastics in Langford and said the experience of competing in a sport she loved is something she will cherish.
“It was just like a sleepover, but with many new friends, coaches, and doing a sport that I love,” said Enge.
The young gymnast was able to finish in the top six in all of her events and her team was able to post a high score from the judges and walk away with a gold medal.
Enge achieved a personal best score of 9.6 out of ten on the uneven bars and said the encouragement from coaches, friends and family meant the world to her.
The BC Games are a biennial multi-sport event that showcases more than 1,200 athletes across 18 sports in four days of competition.
Inspire Cup in Victoria will be the next competition that Enge will participate in, featuring international and Canadian athletes.
