UVic Vikes readying for national women’s golf championships

The five players will be making their NAIA championship debuts

The UVic Vikes will make their first team appearance at the NAIA Women’s Golf National Golf Championship since the 2022 season.

From Tuesday, May 14 to May 17, the team of five student athletes will be representing the university at the national championship in Illinois in which they are currently ranked 27th in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.

The five players, Cindy Koira, Brynne Davies, Mya Rowan, Lana Rummel, and Fiona McCombe, are coming off two-straight tournament victories ahead of the competition capturing team titles at the Simpson University Spring Invitational, and the Master’s University Spring Invitational.

The five players will all be making their NAIA championship debuts.

Though the tournament spans four days and 72 holes in total, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and six individuals after the first 36 holes of play on May 14 and May 15.
