Here’s where you can watch amazing fireworks in Greater Victoria this summer

Butchart brings back weekly fireworks after three-year absence

Things are set to go boom this summer in Greater Victoria.

Starting July 1, the pyrotechnic magic of spectacular fireworks returns to Butchart Gardens. The show features original aerial and ground displays all choreographed to music.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy this show.

There will be 10 Saturday fireworks events:

July 1: 10:15 p.m. (gate closes at 10:30 p.m.)

July 8: 10 p.m.

July 15: 10 p.m.

July 22: 9:45 p.m.

July 29: 9:45 p.m.

Aug. 5: 9:30 p.m.

Aug. 12: 9:15 p.m.

Aug. 19: 9:15 p.m.

Aug. 25: 9:00 p.m.

Sept. 2: 8:45 p.m.

Fireworks are presented after weekly consultation with the Central Saanich Fire Department and may be cancelled due to extreme weather.

The Dining Room Restaurant and Blue Poppy Restaurants are open until 8 p.m. on Saturday evenings.

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT

The Summer Series of evening entertainment begins June 30 and runs through Sept. 2. Butchart Gardens plays host to 38 musical performances on Wednesday through Sunday evenings.

Daniel Cook & The Radiators begins the eclectic summer entertainment program on June 30 with their tasty mix of indie folk, funk and country music. In July, the Chris Millington Band takes the stage for a blend of contemporary and classic dance music and welcomes the audience to join the dance party onstage.

Other highlights include a return of the Victoria Symphony on Aug. 3, the old-time bluegrass band The High Bar Gang Aug. 16, and singer-songwriter and gifted storyteller Stephen Fearing on Aug. 24.

From classical music to kitchen party folk, oldies, blues, contemporary, Celtic tunes and more, the summer line-up offers something for everyone.

NIGHT ILLUMINATIONS

From June 1 to Sept. 15, enjoy Night Illuminations Wednesday to Saturday evenings. As dusk falls, thousands of garden lights give a soft magical glow to shrubs, trees, and flowers. The Gardens are transformed into a wonderland, showcasing an artistic display of light and shadow.

Fireworks Saturdays are included in the price of daily admission, no same day readmission. Regular admission rates apply for 12-month pass holder.
