Justice for a murdered Victoria real estate agent whose case has gone unsolved for 14 years continues to be sought.

On Feb. 2 the walk for Lindsay Buziak – stabbed to death on Feb. 2, 2008 while showing a home in Saanich – will begin outside Saanich municipal hall at 10 a.m.

Similar to previous years, rally attendees will walk all the way to the B.C. legislature from Saanich for the 12th time to raise continued awareness around her unsolved death.

This annual walk is a form of advocacy that brings her father, Jeff Buziak, back to Saanich each year.

The Calgary resident said advocating for his daughter brings him some solace in the wake of the tragedy that haunts him to this day.

“Lindsay was a wonderful, dynamic, outgoing, young woman. She was not involved in criminal activity and she did not like to associate with anyone from the criminal world,” Buziak said. “I’m getting a little tired of Saanich police inferring that she knew people – well everybody knows someone who is not good.”

The unsolved murder investigation sets the precedent that one can get away with a crime like this, he added.

On Jan. 31 2021, the Saanich Police Department released a YouTube video acknowledging the ongoing case.

“Our tight-knit community wants to understand what happened to Lindsay 13 years ago as we are all connected to what happens in this area,” Const. Markus Anastasiades said in the video. “To find those answers we have established a task force comprised of new investigators who are taking a fresh look at the case.”

The task force has obtained assistance from the FBI and support from the RCMP, Anastasiades added, noting that every tip and lead is followed.

“I love my daughter and even though my Lindsay is gone, I’m going to continue to fight – for all women,” said Buziak.
