Two people were arrested on Monday morning after a reported break-and-enter in James Bay.

Police were called to the 400-block of Simcoe Street on May 22 just after 8:15 a.m. after receiving a report that two people had broken into the work area of the multi-unit residential building.

The Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) was on the scene after a caller told police they saw what looked to be a handgun. It was determined later that the item was an airsoft gun.

The two individuals involved were taken to VicPD cells after being arrested shortly before 11 a.m. A Tuesday VicPD statement did not say whether the two people have been charged.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call VicPD’s report desk at 250-995-7654, ext. 1.
