LETTER: North Saanich council summaries available

Some PNR readers will know that for the past eight-and-a-half years I’ve been writing up notes of North Saanich council meetings and, through the auspices of the North Saanich Residents Association, getting them out to members.

I am no longer a member but for the past six months or so Gordon Hardwick of the NSRA executive has provided a link to each specific summary, though not the larger site where I post them.

Until the week of June 5. The NSRA executive has decided not to provide a link to the June 5 regular meeting of council, a meeting which featured a comprehensive report on the OCP Next Steps from the district’s new director of planning. In light of that decision, I am inviting any PNR readers who are interested in reading that, or any summary, to access my site on their own. The address is rdempster.islandnet.com.

Just a note: the summaries are not meant to be a substitute for watching the council meetings or the webcasts, but they can be useful as reference material and for getting a fairly good sense of what happened in the meetings.

Thank you to the PNR for helping me to get the message out.

Robert Dempster

North Saanich
