I agree that Saanich changing the speed limits to 30 km/h is ridiculous. Just imagine having Usain Bolt and you leaving from a stop sign together, and he tops out at about 45 km/h – I guess he gets a speeding ticket.
We need politicians who have life experience. I tried to get on the Saanich transportation advisory group – and with 33 years as a handyDART driver, I had the experience that Saanich councillors are sadly lacking – but all I got was thank you for your application.
Maybe anyone running for politics should have to pass a common sense test, which means being much older, so that life experience actually helps with decisions.
