Her name is taking up more space in the history books.
"Shanda Hill has just completed her fourth DECA triathlon of 2025, a feat no woman on earth has ever accomplished," her support team posted on her Facebook page early Thursday, July 24. "That’s four DECA finishes this year alone, and first place for women in every single one."
Hill crossed the finish line in Poland after swimming 38 kilometres, biking 1,800 and running 422.
She crossed the finish line in just under 289 hours.
"Her body is battered. Her spirit is exhausted. And yet, she’s already lacing up for more," her team said.
In just eight days, Hill will be at the start line again, this time in Germany for a Triple Ultra Triathlon.
"There’s no break, no fancy recovery team, no paid staff. Just grit, heart, and the raw belief that human limits are meant to be challenged."
Hill is kept moving by the encouragement of fans and in-kind support from The Starting Block, Rancho Vignola, and Eve-Volve Wellness.
She is not a funded athlete. Therefore help is needed to cover race fees, basic gear and the mounting cost of doing something no woman has ever done before.
"She doesn’t race for fame. She does this to prove what the human body and mind can do, and to show us all that our own limits might not be where we think they are."
