Team Canada cruised to a 6-1 win over Slovakia in their second pre-tournament game of the World Junior Hockey Championships Friday night at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria.
The Canadian club scored four goals in the first period and were on their way to a convincing shutout before Slovakia scored late in the third period.

Cody Glass notched three points, and goaltender Ian Scott made 23 saves in the victory.
Canada’s final pre-tournament game is Sunday in Vancouver against Finland. They beat Switzerland 5-3 in their first warm up game on Dec. 19.
The actual tournament begins on Boxing Day.
