Victoria Royals #4 Ralph Jarratt watches as a giant teddy bear lands on teammate #27 Jared Freadrich as bears rained down on the ice during the annual Teddy Bear Toss Night at the Save on Foods Memorial Centre during a game against the Kootenay Ice. As the Victoria Royals hit the ice on Dec. 15, they’ll be joined by a team of teddy bears.

The annual toy toss will be held during the game against the Vancouver Giants at 7 p.m. in the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Fans bring new and gently-used bears to the game and throw them onto the ice. Stuffed animals will also be sold at the game by donation through Greater Victoria Animal Crusaders.

The Zone Toy Drive, Salvation Army and Mustard Seed will do their part to hand out the donated teddy bears to kids in need.

Seat availability is currently low, so tickets should be purchased soon for the game — and don’t forget to bring your bears.
