Vernon ringette tournament rings in western Canadian competition

Three different rinks in Vernon hosted 34 teams from across Western Canada

It was a ringette frenzy over the weekend in Vernon as the annual Autumn Blast tournament took over the city.

Three different rinks in Vernon (Kal Tire Place North/South and Priest Valley Arena) hosted 34 western Canada teams in four different age groups: U14, U16, U19  and the Open A division. 

The three-day competition saw nearly 90 games take place, hosted by the Greater Vernon Ringette Association (GVRA), which had seven teams participate. 

GVRA was able to win the U19 division, defeating Calgary in the final. In the open (18+) division, Vernon lost a heartbreaker in the bronze medal match, as they gave up a 3-0 lead to lose to Kelowna.

U14: Gold - Coquitlam-Moody Ringette Association

Silver - Shuswap Ringette Association

Bronze - Delta Ringette Association

U16: Gold - Kelowna Ringette Association

Silver - Shuswap Ringette Association

Bronze - Westside Ringette Association

U19: Gold - Greater Vernon Ringette Association

Silver - Calgary Northwest Ringette

Bronze -Westside Ringette Association

Open A 18+: Gold - Shuswap Ringette Association

Silver - Fraser Valley Ringette

Bronze - Kelowna Ringette Association
