PHOTOS: Easter Bunny delights at massive egg hunt in Saanich

More than 35,000 chocolates were hidden as families gathered in support of BC Children’s Hospital

On your mark, get set, hunt!

Hundreds of families gathered at Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park on Saturday for the 26th annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Neal Estate Group.

The event officially began at 10 a.m., with families arriving early to take part in a range of activities before the big hunt. Participation was by donation, with all proceeds going to BC Children’s Hospital.

Children enjoyed face painting, bubble blowing, and a colouring contest, while parents mingled and snapped photos. The Easter Bunny made a cheerful appearance, greeting kids and posing for pictures throughout the morning.

At exactly 11 a.m., the egg hunt began. Children dashed into the fields in search of more than 35,000 hidden chocolates. It didn’t take long before baskets were full and the eggs were gone, with many kids proudly showing off their finds.

While the sun stayed hidden, families still left with smiles on their faces after another successful and well-loved community tradition.
