Starting in late January, Saanich will begin replacing the Willow Bridge decking on the Lochside Regional Trail.

The bridge’s degraded timber decking will be replaced to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.

Construction is weather-dependent and expected to take around two weeks. A detour route will be in place for pedestrians and cyclists, using Willow and Borden streets to the west. Cyclists will be required to dismount at the 1.5-metre-wide Willow Street sidewalk connector.

Trail users are asked to slow down, follow signage, and exercise caution around construction equipment and workers.
