Esquimalt Coun. Andrea Boardman has been elected to replace Mayor Barbara Desjardins as the township's representative on the Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board after Desjardins stepped down from the role in early July.
“The township recognizes the important role of the Victoria and Esquimalt Police Board in delivering police services for the Township of Esquimalt and the City of Victoria, and ensuring transparent, accountable service to both communities," said Desjardins in a news release.
Boardman was elected to fill the vacant position by Esquimalt council at a July in-camera meeting.
According to the release, she recently retired from Island Health after 41 years and has extensive experience in operations, human resources, and communications.
