"During the stop, a 51-year-old driver was arrested as officers observed evidence of drug paraphernalia within reach of the driver," says WestShore RCMP.

West Shore RCMP arrested a man after a traffic stop in Langford in mid-March.

On March 19, the police department's Bike Patrol Unit conducted a traffic stop in a parking lot near the 2900 block of Jacklin Rd., after officers spotted a parked vehicle sporting a license plate that had been reported lost.

"During the stop, a 51-year-old driver was arrested as officers observed evidence of drug paraphernalia within reach of the driver," WestShore RCMP said in a news release.

Officers also arrested a 34-year-old man who was interacting with the driver at the time of the stop. Police searched the second suspect and seized approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

The driver was released without charges, but the vehicle was towed, impounded and issued a notice for inspection. The second suspect was released with a promise to follow certain conditions until their upcoming court date.
