The Ocean Pointe Resort will now have street-legal electric golf carts for rent on their property.

The Delta Hotels Victoria Ocean Pointe Resort has announced a partnership with a Vancouver company to launch on-site electric golf cart rentals, becoming the first hotel in in the city to offer on-site pickup for the street-legal carts.

"We’re so excited to team up with the Delta Victoria to bring HeyYa carts to this beautiful part of the city,” said Tasha Maynard, founder and CEO of HeyYa Rentals, in a news release. “These street-legal electric carts are all about slowing down, soaking it in, and exploring Victoria in a whole new way – with a smile on your face and the wind in your hair."

The carts are fully electric, made right here in B.C., and built for city cruising. They top out at 40 km/h and can operate on any road with a speed limit of 50 km/h or lower. Drivers need to be 21 with a valid licence, and after that – it’s all systems go.

“We’re thrilled to offer our guests a new way to experience Victoria that’s both sustainable and fun,” noted Kimberley Hughes, general manager of Delta Victoria, in the release. “We’re proud to be the first hotel in the city to offer this unique experience right from our doorstep.”

The carts first hit Victoria streets in May with 15 carts stationed at the View Street Parkade.

Users can pick up a cart directly from the resort, and drivers must be at least 21-years-old with a valid license. To book a cart, users can scan the QR code on the cart or visit ww.heyya.ca and select "Victoria West – Ocean Pointe Resort (Self-Serve)” as their pickup location.
